Thank you Brenda, for making the history of the reading program available.  I have been the Program Resource Person in two different churches. In 1999 and 2000 I was the resource person in an Arizona Church.  Then we moved to Eastern Ohio and I again became the Program Resource Person.  I was interested in learning of its long history.

Thanks.  I printed out the word document and plan to share it with my unit.  I am an avid reader and have always stressed the power of reading to young people.  Reading can provide news, knowledge, entertainment, escape, opposing views, support, encouragement, validation, and so much more!  I am glad Methodist Women have long realized this power and have encouraged reading as a way to grow in understanding and participation in God's mission.
