Author Thomas Norman DeWolf - Inheriting the Trade (RP 2011)October 28, 2010 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM GMT -5: Eastern Daylight Time |
Thomas Norman DeWolf is excited that his book Inheriting the Trade is on our reading list, and appreciates the willingness of United Methodist Women to grapple with challenging subjects. He has agreed to participate with us in honest and meaningful dialogue around the issues of race, diversity and healing from the damage caused by the historic oppressions and injustice that continue to impact all of us today.
In preparation for his talk with us, please read Inheriting the Trade, and take a look at background materials that have been laid before you here: http://reading.umwonline.net/talking-about-inheriting-the-trade-rp-2011 . I am sure you will have questions and comments, so post them here in advance or write them down to post during our time with Tom.
The live chat event will take place at 7:00 PM EST;
PST - 4:00 PM; MT - 5:00 PM; CST - 6:00 PM.

myself: 6 pm CST on Oct 28 - Inheriting the Trade

My cousin sent me this story from Mark Twain's boyhood of Mark Twain's mom - of special interest to those of us reading Inheriting the trade. Find it here http://bit.ly/95Nrjj

I bought my own copy at Board meeting. looking forward to this!

My interlibrary loan arrived in time for my flight to the Women's Division Annual meeting. I made good progress in a very readable book.

Just got my book! love Kindle

Most Public libraries can borrow books from other libraries (interlibrary loan program) Usually takes about a week to obtain a title and you can keep the book for a couple of weeks. The service may be free (mine is) or some places charge a small fee for postage.

I need to order the book.

Karen! Thank you. I had forgotten to make the "Inheriting the Trade" page open. It was hidden while I was constructing it. They should work now.
